Chimie organică și bioorganică; chimia compușilor naturali și fiziologic activi; elaborarea metodelor chemo-, regio- și stereoselective de sinteză a compușilor norlabdanici și drimanici optic activi, inclusiv derivați care conțin azot și halogen, cât și a compușilor cu schelet hibrid terpeno-heterociclic pe baza diterpenoidei labdanice naturale accesibile sclareol; elucidarea mecanismelor de reacție și a condițiilor optime de obținere a compușilor menționați; sinteza dirijată a compușilor noi cu potențial ridicat de activitate biologică, prin aplicarea metodelor computaționale de prognozare a activității, cu posibilități de aplicare industrială.
